This is the first meeting of gal pirate and the prince:
Hand on sabre grip, Jazz shot to her feet and rounded on the newcomer.
The sight shocked her speechless.
A tall young man, skinny and pale in a voluminous purple robe seemed to float in the middle of the room. Partially covered by a lock of shiny black hair, his deep, green eyes grew wide. His fragile appeal broadsided her, and she took a step back.
With a tilt of his head toward Carner, who’d come around to stand near her, the prince asked, “Red?”

This story is a prequel & is very loosely connected, but I think it's a great addition to the universe. I love it. Love it, love it, love it!

Loved the switch in roles here, with her being the pirate and him being the royalty.
I really like the "fragile appeal" part. It's so unusual, I want to read more just to understand it. Also, I think it's great you're doing another story set in the same world as Silver Bound (Yay!)

Great stuff--intriguing situation, characters and a solid hook with the last word! It just demands reading on to find the answer.
